Wendy and Robert were married on 4 June, with a ceremony at the Kilgarriffe Church and a reception at the FernHill House Hotel in Clonakilty in Country Cork.
Robert and Wendy met at University, and the two of them would travel the length of Ireland every week to see each other. Robert lived at the most northern part of Ireland, while Wendy lived the furthest south—but now they are both living in Donegal at a farm that Robert owns.
On the day of the wedding, I met up with Wendy at her family’s farm for morning prep, while my second shooter, Tom Nicholl, met with the groom.
It was important to Wendy that she get pictures in her hometown before she left for Donegal, and we made sure to get pictures in parts of the town where she grew up and had meaning to her. The shoot at Inchydoney Beach in particular was emotional for Wendy, as she spent her childhood summer holidays there, where her grandmother would take her to the beach.
And for me, as a photographer, the beach was perfect. Everything was amazing, the two of them were starting to relax, and the sun was setting gracefully on the horizon. It was the perfect location to end the day and really gave them a chance to get away from all the hustle and bustle and be together alone as newlyweds.
Robert & Wendy, thank you both so much for allowing me to be part of this exciting time in your lives! Congratulations to you both!
