This January, I began the year in style, capturing the stunning wedding of Priscilla and John from Limerick. To give you a true feel for how spectacular this day was, I recently caught up with newly wed, Priscilla, who gave me an insight into some of the finer details of their big day. Here, she shares her highlights of the day as well as a few tips to help you with your own wedding planning.
Priscilla, tell us how you met your husband.
I met John in our family bar. He was having his lunch and went and found out my number somehow. He bombarded me with texts, lol. We were friends for a long time and then started going out.
How did John propose?
John proposed in Barbados while we were on holidays. It was perfect!
When and where did you get married?
We got married in January 2015 in Kilshane House in Tipperary. It was the most perfect start to a new year!
Why did you choose your wedding venue?
We chose Kilshane House for the wedding because I thought it was just stunning. It’s so magical and glamorous and it immediately stood out as our dream venue.
Describe your dress.
My dress was a Jenny Packham silk couture gown. I loved it the moment I tried it on and felt so comfortable in it. It was elegant and timeless and had a sleeve, which I wanted for January.
And your bridesmaid dresses?
My bridesmaid dresses were a beautiful red, which were slightly shorter at the front than the back. The beautiful dresses really suited my two sisters perfectly!
What type of flowers did you choose any why?
The flowers I choose were white phalaenopsis orchids. I chose them because I think they look very elegant and beautiful, complementing our dresses so well!
What was the highlight of the day for you?
The highlight of the day for me was in the church when I met John at the top and we held hands and kissed. We both felt so excited about getting married.
What do you love most about your wedding photographs?
I love my wedding photographs because they capture each special moment throughout the day just perfectly. I love that Donal and his team were so nice and friendly and made everyone feel comfortable. The photographs are beautiful quality and the colour in them is just gorgeous.
What piece of advice would you offer other brides?
My advice to other brides would be to enjoy the build up and have lots of fun on the day as it goes so fast.
