A few months ago I was delighted to photograph Gary and Danielle’s spectacular wedding at Lough Erne Resort, Co. Fermanagh. Today, I caught up with Danielle who has shared the highlights of her big day as well as some fab advice for you brides-to-be.

Danielle, how did you meet your husband, Gary?

I met him in Pulse nightclub in Letterkenny when I was out with my friends for my birthday. It was the perfect birthday present!

How did her propose?

He proposed in the Grosvenor Hotel, Chester, after five months of dating. I thought he tripped when he got down on one knee and I tried to push him back onto his chair!

When and where did you get married?

We were married on the 5th of July 2014, which is my parents’ wedding anniversary and the service was held at the Longtower Church, Derry, where they got married, so it was very special for us. We held our reception at Lough Erne Resort, County Fermanagh.

What inspired you to choose that particular venue for your reception?

When I arrived at Lough Erne I was blown away by its beautiful lakes and scenery and thought it was the perfect place to have my fairytale wedding. Once I met with Shweta our wedding co-ordinator and other staff members, I knew that this was where we would get married. All the staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure our day was perfect.

Tell us about that all important dress

It was a silk ivory dress, with a long train. I loved the embellishment on it –  it had diamonte straps and some pearls and diamontes at the top and plain silk from the waist down. It was exactly what I wanted!

Let’s talk about the bridesmaid dresses

They were coral one shoulder Dessy dresses. They had a Grecian silhouette and a lovely split at the front which made them flow as the girls walked up the aisle. They looked stunning!

What is your favourite memory of the day?

I loved my wedding day from start to finish and I would not change one thing about it, but the highlight was definitely marrying my lovely husband in front of all our amazing family and friends. 

What do you love most about your wedding photographs?

We choose a Queensberry album which we both loved. I loved that our album not only showed the journey of our marriage and all the fabulous people who helped to make our day special, but that each and every picture was different and unique to our day. There were so many different types of pictures that were taken that showed the beautiful location we had chosen. 

What piece of advice would you offer other brides?

Enjoy every minute of your day as it’s the best day of your life. Include all of your immediate family in decision making as it’s nice to have them involved in your special day. If there is something you want, get it! You only get married once so make it perfect for you, your husband and your family and friends.
