Sarah and Robin met where many couples first meet, on a night out, and on this particular night the couple hit it off and have never looked back! Years later, they are inseparable and I was really excited to travel to Edinburgh last week to photograph their wedding at The Mansion House at Edinburgh Zoo!

Through their engagement shoot at the Botanic Gardens, I got to know Sarah and Robin and I knew their wedding would be something very special. On the run up to their wedding we spoke a few times on the phone and honestly I think I was getting as excited as them about the wedding and the prospect of shooting in Edinburgh Zoo!

On the morning of the wedding I arrived early to Sarah and Robin’s flat, and the atmosphere was great, as the girls busied themselves with getting ready. I had a chance to shoot the details and then group shots in a beautiful room with lots of natural light, which was great. On arriving at the Zoo, I had a chance to shoot the guys, who all looked great in their kilts and Robin was really looking forward to see his wife to be! They both beamed when Sarah’s dad gave her away, and throughout the service, it was clear that this was a new chapter in their love story. After drinks in the early afternoon sun and some group shots, we had the chance to visit the monkeys and the penguins as we walked around the zoo while capturing some fun images! Later on in the evening, guests enjoyed a ceilidh, dancing, laughing, and celebrating, almost, but not quite getting as wild as some of the zoo’s other inhabitants! 🙂
