Sinead and Sam met through their shared love of rowing, and it was love at first sight. Blessed with two beautiful daughters, the couple looked forward to their wedding day, when they would celebrate with their closest friends and family.
I bumped into the bride and bridesmaids coming back from the hairdressers as I arrived at Sinead’s parent’s home to capture some pre-ceremony photos. Sinead looked fantastic and was relaxed as she readied herself for the day ahead. Meeting Sam at St. Columba’s Chapel in Drung, the mood was jubilant as he awaited his bride. Setting eyes on one another, the love they have was evident to all. On leaving the service the sun lay low in the sky creating buttery golden tones, and I knew we were set for some amazing images when we arrived at Redcastle Hotel. The sun didn’t disappoint and we had fun shooting some relaxed images on the terrace before the sun dipped below the horizon.
Hanging out with friends and family is what weddings are all about and Sinead and Sam had time to catch-up with everyone before heading to the Ocean Suite for their meal. The speeches were heartfelt and it wasn’t long before the couple were hailed to the dance floor for their first dance. Celtic Kaos were rocking out and it wasn’t long before Sinead and Sam’s guests hit the dance floor to celebrate their wedding, the passing of one year, and the promise of a new one!
Sinead looked stunning.
I heart this one!
Sam, his dad and groomsmen looked very dashing.
Sometimes winter sun is hard to beat. I loved capturing these silhouettes of Sinead and Sam in the door of the church.
What an amazing sunset.
Here’s the scene without off camera flash.
And here’s it with off camera flash. I love this one – it looks so dramatic. Which do you prefer? (Thanks to one of the groomsmen who spared life and limb to hold the flash on some rocks)
