I first met Joanne or Jo / Jo Jo at university eleven years ago and straight away her personality shone. She’s not afraid to sing in the street and her infectious sense of humour lifts everyone around her. When she met Scott I knew that she had met the ‘one’ and on meeting Scott I realised why she fell for his easy way and fun loving nature.

I was honoured when Jo and Scott asked me to photograph their wedding and when it came to the day it was very special indeed. At Jo’s in the morning the girls were buzzing with excitement. As Jo caught sight of the rose petals her dad had placed in her room she was moved and the emotion continued until they arrived at the incredible Greyfriars Church. Scott and his groomsmen waited patiently and shared a joke or two as he awaited his bride. On seeing each other and throughout the service the couple beamed of happiness and joy.

The couple then made their way Prestonfield House with guests following in red route-master busses. After sipping some champagne and enjoying the beautiful canapés we had time to capture images of Jo and Scott’s families, bridal party and the couple. Guests delighted at the speeches before the exquisite meal and they were in for a treat with the evening entertainment. In true style not only were the band fantastic, but the evening was peppered with performances from the couple’s friends and family. As Caledonia rang out at the end of the evening there wasn’t a bum on a seat as everyone took to the dance floor to celebrate the joining of such an amazing couple with the trademark platinum passion that Jo and Scott live their lives with.

Getting images like this make me feel that buying my new macro lens was 100% worth it!
