With dreamy Jimmy Choo shoes and a dress exclusively designed in Australia by Steven Khalil, the Lough Erne Resort wedding of Jennifer and Fintan was definitely a classy affair! Almost one year since the pair said their “I dos”, I caught up with Jennifer who gives us a sneak peak behind the scenes of their big day. This is what she had to say…How did you meet your husband? We met in the Botanic Inn in Belfast while at University.Tell us about married life
It’s gone past so quickly. I can honestly say I love it – being married is a lovely feeling. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since it happened.
When & where did you get married?
We got married on Saturday 30th May 2015, in St Mary’s Chapel followed by a reception at The Lough Erne Resort, Co. Fermanagh.
What is your favourite memory of the day?
For me it was definitely when the doors opened and I seen the chapel for the first time with Fintan standing there at the altar waiting.
What 3 words would you use to describe your wedding?
It really was the best day of my life. I think to me it was romantic, dreamy and magical.
What was the overall vibe for your wedding?
The vibe was elegant/romantic with a vision of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. I wanted it to be a sea of white flowers, soft pink tones and candlelight. When I met my florist Bernie, she was able to take the image I was describing and turn it into a reality.
Tell us about the search for your dream dress
My dress was an epic search. I live in Perth, Australia and had travelled home to look for my dress on several occasions. I knew what I wanted in my head but I found it hard to find exactly what it was. Eventually I found a designer based in Sydney who creates designs similar to what I had in mind. I went to Sydney with a friend to design the dress with Steven Khalil and that was it. It took a few trips back and forth over a year to get it perfect! It really was my dream dress and it fitted like a glove.
And your bridesmaids?
My bridesmaids’ dresses were a search too, trying to tie in with what I had envisioned. I mostly searched online and then asked my sisters and mum to go and try them on and they would Face Time me so that I can see what they looked like. We eventually found the dresses and in a beautiful peony pink, which I took as a sign as peony roses are one of my favourite!
Where did you honeymoon?
Abu Dhabi – it was amazing!
What 5 tips would you offer couples planning their wedding?

2) Try to stay organised with plenty of lists
3) Enjoy the planning
4) Relax the night before
5) On the day, take it all in
What do you love most about your wedding album?
