Rosemarie & Sean were married on Easter Monday 2015 in a ceremony in St Columbas Chapel, Straw, followed by a reception at Redcastle Hotel. One year later, I caught up with Rosemarie to find out how they are settling into married life, as well as reminiscing about their stunning wedding. Here’s what she had to say…

Rosemarie, how did you meet your husband?

Well, it was funny how we met. We had always known each other, but we bumped into each other in Letterkenny at a rally, and the rest is history!

Tell us about married life

I am loving married life! I just can’t believe how quickly the first year has gone by!

What is your favourite memory of the day?

It was definitely walking up the aisle and seeing Sean waiting at the top for me. I’ll remember that moment forever.

What 3 words would you use to describe your wedding?

For me it was exciting, romantic and art deco.

What was the overall vibe for your wedding?

The vibe was definitely elegant and romantic, which is exactly what we wanted to portray.

Tell us about the search for your dream dress

I knew exactly what I wanted in my head but just trying to find it was hard. I had heard about Castle Couture in Galgorm so I took a trip to the boutique to check it out for myself. When I got to the shop and started exploring the rails, I found the dress that I knew was meant for me!

And your bridesmaids?

For my bridesmaid dresses, I wanted something different but I couldn’t find any that I wanted. In the end I decided to get them all made, with the help from my dress marker KM Couture. They were exactly what I had envisioned and the girls were so happy in them.

Where did you honeymoon?

We had an amazing honeymoon is San Francisco, LA and Las Vegas. We have many fond memories of our first trip together as husband and wife.

What 5 tips would you offer couples planning their wedding?

1. Enjoy the planning process and try not to get too stressed.

2. Being organised is key!

3. Give yourself plenty of time for planning. 

4. The night before the wedding, relax.

5. On the day, enjoy every minute as it goes by far too quickly.

What do you love most about your wedding album?

Absolutely everything! Donal managed to capture every single detail for us to treasure forever.
