Frances and Peter were married on May 28th, with a ceremony at St. Mary’s Ardmore in Derry and a reception at the Beech Hill Country House.
It was clear that family was a huge part of the day, and I loved seeing their five children—Daniel, Rose, Emma, Conor, and Sophie—play such a big role. Frances’ parents, Mary and Declan, as well as Peter’s parents, Mary and Danny, were also a huge part of the wedding.
In the morning, I went down to the hairdresser to collect Frances after shooting the bridal detail. I loved the VW camper and Beetle that we got to drive around in!
As we were doing the bridal photos, the heavens opened up, and we all got soaked. But it didn’t faze the laid-back couple at all! My second shooter, Karol McGonigle, and I absolutely loved photographing these two because they were so easy to have fun with! When it rained, they just started laughing and turning around and around in it.
When we got to the ceremony, one of my favourite moments was when it was time for them to share their first kiss as husband and wife. The priest asked the bride, “What happens next?” and was expecting them to kiss. But instead, she replied, “We live happily ever after!” Everyone laughed before, of course, they kissed.
From there, it was on to the reception, where it was clear that everyone was so excited to celebrate their union. The groomsmen—Marc, Martin, and Donal—were so much fun, and the whole wedding party truly came out to support these amazing people.
Thank you, Peter & Frances, for allowing me to be part of this exciting time in your lives. This was truly an amazing wedding, and I wish you both the very best!
