I am very lucky to capture weddings all over the world, and it was a pleasure to be there for Claire and Brendan’s wedding in Sorrento.
Having done their pre-wedding shoot at Glenveagh National Park, I knew that Claire and Brendan have a great sense of humor, and their wedding was going to be great craic.
When I arrived at the villa early on the morning of the wedding Claire and her family were in great spirits as they prepared for the day ahead.
After shooting some really natural images of the bride making her preparations, against the stunning backdrop of Sorrento I made my way along the picturesque coast to Positano for the wedding service accompanied by Reuben and Estelle from Show & Tell. The landscape was jaw dropping, with one of the dad’s in his speech referring to the area as “the Antrim coast on steroids!”
Arriving at Positano, Claire made her way through the cobbled streets on her dad’s arm. Local Italian’s called out “Bella!” and “Mamma Mia!” and this really added to the atmosphere! We were even greeted by a brass band as we made our way through Positano.
The service at Santa Maria Assunta Church was really beautiful. Leaving in a haze of confetti and sunshine, Claire and Brendan made their way back through the narrow streets to the coast, where we got some great images.
At the Angelina Villa Mura, guests enjoyed cocktails and the beautiful Italian skyline. The celebratory atmosphere continued with the traditional Italian banquet, hilarious speeches and a cigar bar. The amount of effort Claire and Brendan put into the day was evident by the attention to detail and all the little touches that made it really special.
Mount Vesuvius looked on as Claire and Brendan took to the dance floor and as the sunset on the day everyone was glad they were part of the day and the beginning of the couples life together.
