CITY HOTEL WEDDING, DERRY : CATHERINE + PADRAIG

Derry Rose, Catherine’s wedding was always set to be a special day and with her ex-US Airforce fiance, Padraig, the couple were set to have an amazing day with their closest friends and family.

I chatted to Catherine once in Starbucks and when she called to discuss her wedding photography, we hit it off straight away. Catherine and Padraig and I had a blast shooting their pre-wedding shoot and the couple of hours flew in, so I knew I would have a blast capturing their day.

Come the morning of the wedding I arrived at Catherine’s house earlier and shot her details including her stunning dress. I had a chance to chat to her dad Charlie about his time living in New York before Catherine and the bridesmaids arrived. We didn’t have too much time to capture some images at the house, but what time I had I used to the best advantage. Arriving at St. Joseph’s Church in Craigban, Padraig and the groomsmen were in great spirits and it wasn’t long until the bridal car arrived and Catherine and Padraig set eyes on one another for the first time!

After the the beautiful service we made our way to Learmount Castle and Forest, where I had a hoot photographing the bridal party and then I took some time out to capture some lovely moments between the bride and groom .

Arriving at the City Hotel the couple had a chance to view the room which looked amazing and after capturing group shots, they relaxed for a while before making a grand entrance into the room. The speeches were first class, and I had to try hard not to get camera shake, as I was laughing as hard as everyone else. The first dance was a lot of fun, with a cool routine that further raised the spirits of everyone there. At the end of the evening we took ten minutes out to visit the Peace Bridge and it was the perfect end to what was a truely fantastic day – and just the start of a fantasic night for everyone else!
