ARE YOU READY READY LONDON!

Great day today at the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) Convention in London. It’s the first time I’ve been to the convention, so I really didn’t know what to expect.

I made it over here last night and met up with old colleagues from Abbey Business Centres, who I worked in marketing for from 2005-2007, at one point being based in the 30 St. Mary Axe (more affectionately known as the Gherkin). As usual, when I meet up with the Abbey crew it ended up being a bit of a late one.

This afternoon I made it to the convention at 1.30pm (a little later than anticipated). I got there in time to see Becker’s workshop, which was very inspirational. He talked about delivering an outstanding experience to people every time. I couldn’t manage to get into see the Julia Boggio masterclass which was a bit disappointing, but checked out the Editor of Photo Pro’s talk on getting editorial featured in the magazine. I made sure to go early to see David Jay’s talk. I got chatting to him – he’s a complete gentleman and his talk was really motivating and inspirational. Check out this shot I got with David on the iPhone.

I also got a chance to check out the trade show and it’s always a good opportunity to meet your suppliers  and get to see new products which would appeal to people. The image below (shot in the iPhone) demonstrates the quality of the images my framing and printing partner produces.

Tonight I got a chance to meet up with my friends, Zita and Paul (who I’m staying with), Carrie, Richard and Giorgio for Dinner in Rosa’s thai restaurant in Soho. I would highly recommend this spot – I’m a huge fan of thai food and this is one of the best little places for thai food in the UK that I’ve been to. Looking forward to the convention tomorrow so I’ll circle the workshops I want to attend and make sure I’m there extra early to get a place.

Hello! Hope you are enjoying the convention and sorry you couldn’t get in to see my seminar. We’ll be giving a similar seminar at Sim 2000 on February 23. You can get in touch with them for tickets. J

Thanks for mentioning Rosa’s. Hope the visit went well and that we looked after you OK? Alex
