This time last year I was visiting the Blue Mountains with my good friend Diarmuid who lives in Sydney, Australia. I was down under to photograph a friend’s wedding south of Melbourne just before Christmas and to be honest it was that wedding which inspired me to follow a dream to photograph more weddings. As I posted during the week my highlights for the year, I thought it would be worthwhile blogging a couple of the weddings I shot before I started my blog.
Tom and Lorelie’s (or Lol as she is affectionately known to many) wedding was simply amazing – so much thought was put into every detail. The venue, ‘Lindenderry at Red Hill‘ was simply incredible, it’s a vinyard and the day before the wedding I had a chance to look around and view some albums of other weddings shot at this stunning venue. I stayed with the groom’s party, so in the morning after a relaxed breakfast I shot a range of fun and relaxed images. The guys were really great fun and getting to know them a bit better I found out that they had met while at a golf academy and this inspired the first image below. Tom looked the part in his suit and he was really excited to see his bride. I had the use of Tom and Lol’s car which I had used to drive down the Great Ocean Road the week before and I stopped in Colac to stay with Tom’s parents, Steve and Trish, for a night which was a lot of fun. So I drove to Lindenderry where Lol was getting ready with her bridal party. I’ve got to say Lol was a really beautiful bride and I had no problem capturing great images of her.
The ceremony was full of laughter and emotion and as the Australian sun beamed through the windows of the chapel, bride and groom beamed with happiness as they shared their day with their closest friends and family. Back at Lindenderry we had the chance to explore the grounds and both Tom and Lol were up for trying a range of creative and fun poses and the atmosphere was totally laid back and fun. We shot images with the bridal party as they shared a drink and then got a chance for some family portraits before joining everyone else for drinks outside in the courtyard. The bride and groom made a fun entrance into the room and with the emotional and hilarious speeches and an incredible band, everyone was guaranteed a great time.
One year on and Tom and Lol have had their album and parent albums which I previous blogged and they called me on Christmas day which was so great. The big news is that Lol is expecting and they will have a new addition to the family in 12 weeks (give or take) – so I wish them all the best and if they need any photos of the baby I’m only a short (24 hour) flight away!

Simply stunning.

The girls were an absolute blast.

I thought that these little baskets the flower girls were very cute.

Lorelie and her brothers before the wedding.

An emotional moment as Lol’s brothers’ give her away.
The moment Tom and Lol set eye’s on each other – I love this shot.

Such a happy day and this shines through in the photos.

Shot while driving behind the wedding car.

These images and the three below were all shot in the same place and are my favourite’s from the day.

It’s great when a bride and groom trust you to try out something fun.

The bridal party all looked fabulous!

I shouted to the group as they were walking back to the venue and they all turned around so I could capture this.

Bride and groom enter the room – I think from memory the song was ‘I Gotta Feeling’ by the Black Eyed Peas!

The first of many dances and a late and great night for everyone!

so beautiful photographs.simply stunning……….
