Wedding Day Photography Checklist

Don’t miss a single thing on your wedding day thanks to our wedding day photography checklist.

While every couple, wedding and photographer are immensely different, look an any wedding album and there are often similarities in the sequence of shots taken of the day. No doubt you won’t want to look back with regret that you’ve missed something that you didn’t even consider. So with this in mind, we’ve put together a mega list of wedding day photography shots.

While you may feel it’s not necessary to include all of these, pick and choose those which suit the vision you want to capture of your day. Finally, remember that while it’s important to have many photos taken, you don’t want to spend hours away from your guests so discuss timings with your photographer.

 

Before the ceremony

  • Little details: close up of invite, bride’s shoes, accessories shot, wedding rings, bride’s bouquet, groom’s buttonhole, sipping champagne
  • Bride’s dress hanging up
  • Bride and bridal party having their hair & makeup applied
  • Mother of bride and bridesmaid zipping up bride’s dress

Ceremony shots

  • Guests arriving and their reactions throughout the ceremony
  • Groom and groomsmen arriving & waiting
  • Bride being escorted out of the car
  • Bride with her mum/dad/bridesmaid outside
  • Bridesmaids fixing bride’s dress before she walks up the aisle
  • Groom facing forward as bride walks up the aisle
  • Groom’s reaction to his first glance of the bride
  • Father/mother giving away the bride
