I’m looking forward to seeing Stephen and Alana tonight for a viewing of their wedding images. They got married in Beech Hill Country House Hotel in Derry – Londonderry, Northern Ireland, with their reception at Pitchers Wine Bar and Restaurant. The Beech Hill is an amazing venue to shoot at, the grounds are simply stunning and we were so lucky that the rain stopped for an hour to let us explore the grounds to capture a range of images. My good friend and Irish Makeup Artist of the Year (2006 & 2009), Rosemary Wright from Ashburn Image was on hand to do Alana’s make-up in the morning and I must say she’s looking so great herself! The intimate ceremony was held in the Library in the Beech Hill and Stephen could not take his eyes off his radiant bride throughout. Great couple to work with, up for trying lots of ideas and had some great ideas themselves, I am so lucky to be able to work with the most amazing couples! They are going to go for a brown leather album with an aperture on the front for a photo of the day, and embossed with a personal message – can’t wait to see it when it’s finished.

On another note, refurbishment of the studio started in ernest yesterday. I have decided on a oak floor and spent part of yesterday afternoon helping the fitter lift the carpets in the rooms and moving loads of stuff to the kitchen. The viewing tonight’s going to be in my living room while the work is finished, so I brought the 50″ Samsung plasma into the room for the viewing. Oh my god it looks massive compared to the 32″ I had there before. Love looking at the shots on the big screen, so vibrant and with some great music it can get really emotional; laughs one minute, tears the next – and that’s just me! 🙂
