THREE NIGHTS IN ENNISKERRY, WICKLOW

The sun is shining here in Enniskerry, what a beautiful day. I’ve just arrived in Summerville House Hotel in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, after a four-hour drive from Derry. The sat nav as usual has saved the day getting me here with only one dodgy choice of direction at Aughnacloy on the border between Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. It’s funny driving up here I just realised it’s right beside Powerscourt Estate, where my friend Carrie and her hubby, Richard, were married a few years ago. It’s a stunning location for a reception and I had to call her in London to see if she might be home in Wicklow this weekend, but no joy!

Really looking forward to the wedding tomorrow of my good friend, Jonny, and his beautiful bride, Sinead. Many of my oldest and best of friends from school will be there to celebrate and most are used to me in the role of photographer, as I have done quite a few of our other friends weddings too. They booked a couple of years ago, which shows that they have a lot of faith in me, and that inspires me to make sure their photos are incredible. I’ll be here for the next three nights documenting proceedings (public holiday in UK and Ireland on Monday).

It’s been such a busy week this week. My business cards arrived last weekend and I visited all the local bridal shops to introduce myself and to ask if they would mind displaying my cards. I already know a few of them from running a few bridal events in the past and no exception they are all lovely. Must be working with happy brides-to-be on a day and daily basis.

This Sunday, I will have a stand at the Derry Journal Wedding Fayre in the Millennium Forum. The lovely Ciara Fullerton will be on hand to show samples and to discuss my wedding package with anyone who is interested, so if you’re there make sure to stop by and say hello.

I was ecstatic to hear this week that I have been added to the preferred supplier list for Kee’s Hotel, Stranorlar, and have asked to showcase my work at their bridal fayre on 19th September, so I really look forward to chatting to lots of you who can make it then.

There’s a dinner this evening for the 30 or so guests staying in the hotel tonight, so looking forward to meeting everyone and to getting some photojournalistic shots of them catching up and having a great time.

And because every post is better with a photo, here’s a shot of the venue, Summerville House Hotel in Enniskerry.
