I'm Donal, a fine art wedding photographer. Since 2009 I have photographed seven hundred weddings, most of them in Ireland's castles and along its coastline.
Castle Leslie, Cabra Castle, Lough Eske Castle, Bellingham Castle, Markree Castle, Kilshane House.
My approach combines documenting the moments that happen naturally with creating photographs with intention.
Published in Vogue and Brides. Named one of the top wedding photographers in the UK by Photo Professional Magazine, and Wedding Photographer of the Year, Reportage Photographer of the Year and Fashion Photographer of the Year.
It started in Melbourne. In 2009 friends asked me to photograph their wedding, and I spent an afternoon in a vineyard making pictures of them. I had been carrying a camera since a City and Guilds course in London four years earlier. That was the day it became the work.
Since then weddings have taken me across Ireland and Europe, to the Caribbean and Australia.
At home there is my daughter Sophie, who spent this summer finding us places to paddleboard and swim along the Donegal coast.

My passion for people, relationships and love drives me to capture beautiful moments as the story of your wedding unfolds. Your day will be unique and my aim is to capture it in an authentic way with my signature style.
I'm professional, but relaxed too and not only want to capture amazing memories, but to make sure you're having the most fun day of your life.
Most couples book twelve to eighteen months ahead, and summer and early autumn Saturdays go first. If you have a date in mind it is worth asking early.
Tell me your date, your venue and a little about the day you are planning. I will come back to you with availability and my wedding collections. If you share what you would love for your day, I can also tailor a bespoke collection around it.
If you would like to talk it through after that, we can arrange a call or meet. I reply to everything within two working days.
